Blacklace teases us at MW Fashion-5!

What a great show at Model’s Workshop on August 17th. We were all treated to the sultry, sexy designs of Mariska Simons of Blacklace Lingerie. Five gorgeous models showcased designs ranging from bra and panties, lingerie sets and negligé to elegant wedding gowns and burlesque costumes. Hosted by Sofia Diage (voice host and DJ) and Madeleine Paxson (text host), the show oozed sex and sophistication with some kinkiness thrown in, animals, mesh body parts and a beautiful, mesmarizing bridal dance performance at the end using the Spot On Choreography System.

You cannot deny the talent of Mariska Simons and the intricate detail and craftsmanship delivered in each of the pieces presented that night. We were truly honoured to showcase her designs on the MW runway, and we thank her for her generosity and support of Model’s Workshop and its FASHION-5 initiative. A special and sincere thank you to Sienna Bellios, Assistant Manager at Blacklace, for her help and support during the process of putting the show together. We appreciate her patience, professionalism, knowledge and prompt responses to our questions and last minute changes. It was a pleasure working with her!

Kathleen Sierota Xevion (katiemichelle) – Co-producer/Director

Kathleen Sierota Xevion (katiemichelle) co-produced and directed the show. This was Kathleen’s second fashion show in that role, and we know it will not be her last. She did an amazing job keeping the models in line and ready to go. We’d love to see Kathleen back to produce and direct more fashion shows at Model’s Workshop. Thank you to AbbyJean for stepping in as backup model at the last minute while also writing the script for the show. This truly showed her versatility and enthusiasm taking on these two very challenging roles.

Many thanks to Suki Rexen for the amazing build. She literally refaces the set each month for FASHION-5, and does a fabulous job at it. Thank you to Dreamlove for volunteering as model mentor/stylist for the show. The models truly had one of the best at their fingertips.

Congratulations to PetraLAlexander who is our Model of the Month. As one of the models in the show, we watched Petra grow and improve in her styling and posing skills. Her enthusiasm and great sense of humour helped to make the journey fun. We know that with hard work and persistence, Petra will surely make her mark in the SL fashion world.

Our next show will take place in October 2014, so keep an eye out for show and casting details.
