Virtual Fur Styling Challenge recap

For this month of November, the styling challenge was moved to a week earlier. The theme was virtual fur. Given the theme, participants were asked to style a look using fur as the predominate element. We can assure that no animals were harmed in the organizing of the event. The 21 guests were welcomed to the venue by a winter wonderland, created by none other than our CEO Suki Rexen.

Our judges for the challenge were Sonatta Morales, designer of the haute couture vintage fashion brand Sonatta Morales; Danity Mynx, a producer with SCALA and Miss V Canada 2015 & 2016; and Resmay Bloodstorm, 1st runner-up in the October styling challenge. They provided valuable feedback to participants and remarked about how much they enjoyed the experience.

There were seven participants in the challenge; some veterans who have done this before, as well as a few new to the challenges or new to modeling. All of them did an incredibly good job filling the brief and each of them received scores above 50 points. The audience participated with feedback and expressed how impressed they were with the stylings. The participants were Cameron (ravenmanskwer), Dakota Lavarock, Iceeee (Icemint Haven), Malla Flow, Slim Nootan, Tanya (tanyagreen) and Wildfire (wildflower133). Our winner was Tanya; she was awarded a giftcard and is eligible to be a judge at the December styling challenge. Dakota finished 2nd while Wildfire finished 3rd.

There are several people to thank who helped to make this event happen. Suki Rexen created a gorgeous runway for participants to walk. Jena Adder provided assistance with welcome the models and advertising the day of the challenge. Vann Underwood was responsible for suggesting the theme. We were also lucky to have Model’s Workshop’s (newly) official photographer Lira Savira there to take the photos. Many thanks to all of them!
